Richard T. Hattesohl, PLS
University of Wyoming
PLS 2005000080 – Missouri
Richard began his surveying career in 1987 with the National Geodetic Survey (NGS). At the time he just wanted to travel for awhile, and earn some money, but what he found was a lifetime career opportunity and a passion for surveying. The first three years with NGS Richard worked on cooperative projects with the US Geological Survey (USGS) completing vertical control surveys in areas with lots of ground movement such as the San Andreas Fault Line in California, and Yellowstone National Park. The last three years with NGS he worked in the Airport Surveys Division completing Obstruction Chart Surveys for the Federal Aviation Administration.
Between 1993 and 2003 Richard worked for private land surveyors and engineering firms in Kansas and Minnesota, before relocating to Trenton Missouri in November 2002. Soon after arriving in Trenton he discovered that there was a need for a surveyor not only in Grundy County, but many of the neighboring counties as well, so he founded Hattesohl Surveying, LLC.
Having such a diverse background in surveying has allowed Richard to develop many of the different surveying skills necessary to offer a broad spectrum of surveying services.
